The difficulty of every faction (before choosing a faction you should first check its difficulty and eventual state of wars and alliances):
Rome - 'Medium'
Etruria - 'Hard'
Gauls - 'Easy'
Carthage - 'Medium' (*starts at war against Syracuse)
Berbers - 'Medium
Syracuse - 'Hard' (*starts at war against Carthage)
Illyria - 'Easy'
Sparta - 'Hard' (*starts at war against Satrapy of Lydia and Athens)
Athens - 'Hard' (*starts at war against Sparta)
Satrapy of Lydia - 'Medium' (* at war against Sparta*)
Macedon - 'Medium'
Thrace - 'Easy'
Sarmatia - 'Easy'
Egypt - 'Hard'
Satrapy of Cilicia - 'Medium'
